Fast Weight Loss

Anyone looking for fast weight loss is not far short of hoping to win the lottery, because it’s another of those dream hopes that some people look for, you know, finding the magic button, one that requires little or no effort, push it and lose weight fast, or push it and receive loads of money?

The way some of the weight loss product ads are written, using descriptive words like fast weight loss, rapid weight loss, you might start to believe it, I know I do, as they play the song we want to hear, easy and fast weight loss... The truth is, there is no magic button, no quick fix, I’m sorry to ruin your dreams.

Now I’ve got that off my chest, I have to make a comment that there are ways to lose weight reasonably quickly, but the reason why I don’t like to recommend these fast weight loss programs, is that they tend to use limited foods, so once you lost the weight, you just cannot live on the limited foods for the long term, so you end up going straight back to your old lifestyle, old eating habits, and bingo, the weight goes back on. This is because it was your old eating habits, your old life style that caused you to be overweight in the first place.

In any long term weight loss program, you need to include changes to your eating habits; this is to help you create a healthier lifestyle, one that uses healthier foods, and one that you can use for the long term. There are many reasons to want fast weight loss. This could be a special occasion, like a wedding, party, or even a holiday or job interview. But losing weight should always be seen as a long term objective. Yes, some fast weight loss plans may help you to lose weight for the short term, but what about the long term. Do you really want to go through all that heartache, just to put it all back on again?

Let’s quickly go back to basics, fat is only lost in dieting where your calorie intake is less than the calories your body uses each day. Crash or low energy diets will often result in your body burning both fat and muscle. Why, because it is estimated that the maximum fat that an average human body will burn in a single week is just 2 pounds. This means, any weight that is lost over and above this 2 pound for a week may be muscle or water loss.
