10 Tips For Weight Loss When Dining Out

There are times when being on a diet is extremely difficult.

These difficult times are when you are away from your home, maybe you travel a lot, or you or your partner likes to dine out, or your partner will not, or doesn't need to diet... Well, the best plan of attack for these situations is just to be prepared, think about it before it happens, as you will have more control.

Tips For Weight Loss
1. For your starter, go light, maybe a prawn cocktail, or a side salad. Best to stay away from creamy starters and red meats.

Tips For Weight Loss 2. If you're a pasta lover, and do find it hard not to eat endless amounts, see if they offer a wholemeal pasta, and order just 1 portion. Top Tip For Weight Loss:, leave some if you want to, and don’t worry about it, your body will thank you later.

Tips For Weight Loss 3. When ordering a meat dish, you should always go for chicken. Remember to stay away from the fried chicken, always go for boiled, grilled or steamed. If you must order red meat, be sure to ask the waiter to make sure the chef cooks the leanest piece of red meat available.

Tips For Weight Loss 4. If you don’t see anything on the menu that is cooked to your new healthy liking. Ask the waiter if it would be possible for the chef to cook you a dish with say, boiled or grilled chicken, instead of fried. Don’t be worried about asking, as you do want to eat healthily, and you will certainly not be the first, or even the last to ask for this.

Tips For Weight Loss 5. Avoid the temptation of butter, oil, batter, cream sauce, and home-made gravy.

Tips For Weight Loss 6. If it goes against the grain to leave food on your plate, to avoid you over eating, take a doggie bag, or ask the waiter to wrap it up so you can take it home when you leave. Again, don't be embarrassed to ask, as lots of people do this.

Tips For Weight Loss 7. If you are a take-away person as I am, order carefully. I also find most take-away outlets supply dishes that almost always contain twice the amount of food I need, I don't know if you find the same. So, try to serve your take-away at home, only dish up half of it, and that way you will have the remainder to eat the next day, or for another family member, or even freeze it to eat later. Remember, willpower is the key here, think healthy.

Tips For Weight Loss 8. If you're going out for a meal and you know where you are going, why not ring the restaurant and ask them if they have their menu on a web site, or if they could post one to you, or even go and pick one up. This way it gives you a chance to read through the menu, and to choose the best meal that suits you. You can then be relaxed when you arrive at the restaurant, as you know your choice of food is already made, and it's a healthy one

Tips For Weight Loss 9. Buffets, or eat as much as you like restaurants, are the worst of places for a dieter to eat. You must know your portion control, only have one plate. Once again, the key factor here is your willpower.

Tips For Weight Loss 10. The days you go out for a meal, try to eat smaller portions during the day, that way you can keep an eye on the calories for the day and evening, and have a little in hand, if necessary. Having said that, don't starve yourself as you may end up eating more, which is not the best diet tip.
