Even though there is increasing evidence of
health issues that are widely reported, and directly related to weight, social eating habits are
continuing to develop in what is considered to be a very unhealthy direction.
Advertised fast-food offers, like "go large
or supersizing", continue to attract customers in their droves, and are helping the sale of
fast-food to continue rising ever higher.
And this continued and rising demand for
"instant food" only inspires the food industry to produce even more refined food, all fully loaded
with nutritional deficiency and calorie-overload.
Is there any wonder why diet compliance is
so low amongst the average dieters?
Meanwhile, it is reported that around 78
percent of Americans do not meet the basic activity recommendations, and of these, 25 percent are
reported as being completely inactive.
Adopting Healthy
Habits.
The facts are clear, losing as little as 7%
to 10% of your body weight can actually improve the risks that are associated with many of the
health problems linked to obesity, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
Some obesity experts are now recommending a
somewhat less formal approach to calorie controlled weight loss, and are now recommending that you
adopt more healthy habits.
A simple example of the types of healthy
habits that they are recommending could be: reduce your calorie intake by around 200 calories each
day; this could be achieved by changing from using whole milk to skimmed milk, as well as taking a
30 minute walk. These two simple healthy habits will save around 73,000 calories each year, which
is equivalent to approximately 20 lbs (9 Kg) of body fat.
The marketplace has already responded to
these suggestions, with a number of weight loss dieting programs now recommending things like more regular eating
of smaller meals to help with calorie burning.
You can be certain that you will see
more of these weight loss healthy eating programs becoming available.
