While Losing Weight, You Will Suffer A Daily Emotional Roller Coaster Ride.

Most people who had tried dieting have achieved some level of success at one time or another.

Depending on the type of person you are, and your daily activities, your daily highs and lows, there will always be a time that will cause you to reconsider your diet at some point, we are only human.

Hitting a low can often put you on course for a chocolate bar, or a bag of sweets. or something sweet and sticky, you'll yearn for the 'high' of some sugar intake.

Eating sweets or high in sugar foods, is certainly not the best way to lose weight, but at the same time, as long as it is only on the odd occasion, it also won't completely derail you, we're only human.

If it becomes a daily action, it would be a wise move to find a way of either avoiding what's causing these sugar needs, or to find something healthier to replace them, like fruit, which is a natural source of sugar, just make sure your choice of replacement is on the list of foods you are allowed.

Losing Weight Is A Very Simple Thing To Do.

Not easy, I said simple...

If it was easy, there wouldn't be so many people who are overweight.

There is a number one skill to learn if your really want to lose weight, one that you need to focus on, your daily emotional roller coaster survival tactics.

If you have a sweet tooth, or like sugary or comfort foods, especially when the going gets tough, then you need to deal with this before it happens, otherwise you will just grab for the first thing you find, and we can be sure it will be the wrong thing.

During your diet your body weight will vary. One week you will lose a lot, the next none at all, and some weeks you may even find yourself putting weight back on, this is normal. As you lose weight and your body gets closer to your ideal weight, your weight loss will slow down, again this is normal.

Is there a magic button to lose weight fast?

The truthful answer to this question is NO, there isn't one, unless you believe in the fairies of course, or are naive enough to believe the infomercials, sales pages, and other ads!

Understand that food is your body's fuel, and this will take you a long way towards your weight loss goals, and losing your excess fat.

A quick analogy to understand that food is your body's fuel...

(Don't try this.)

If a person filled up their gas tank on their car, and then drove a 300 mile journey.

Let's say the car does 30 miles to the gallon.

At the 300 mile point, they pull into the nearest gas station and fill up again.

How much fuel did they pump in?

300 miles ÷ 30 mpg = 10 gallons.

So, if you said 10 gallons, you were right.

With the tank refilled, they drive a further 30 miles down the road, and then pull into the nearest gas station and fill up again.

How much would it take this time?

30 miles ÷ 30 mpg = 1 gallon.

If you said 1 gallon, that is correct.

Okay, now with the gas tank full again, they drive a further 30 miles down the road, pull in to the nearest gas station, and now pump 10 gallons into the gas tank, and don't stop when it starts to spill, they just keep pumping, until the gas pump says 10 gallons.

The big question is.... How much gas is on the floor?

They used 1 gallon, so if you said '9 gallons', well done...

Now the Reality Check, and the difference between a car and your body...

Your body is absolutely fantastic, it will not waste your money by rejecting the fuel, and spilling it on the floor like your car would.

Oh no, your body will keeps taking it and storing it, taking it and storing it, taking it and storing it...

It wouldn't matter if you had walked 5 miles, or 50 miles, your body will consume the same amount of food each time, if you let it, it's not only accepting what is being used, it will keep on taking and storing it until YOU stop.

So, where does the excess fuel go, the spillage that your car would send to the floor?

The fuel spillage on humans, well it certainly doesn't go on the floor, and if you haven't guessed it yet, think waistline, think bigger clothes size.

When you say 'Go Large' at the next fast food outlet, unless you are burning the extra food portion you are consuming, you're also saying Go Large to your body as well.

  • Stay Focused On Your Goals.

Stay focused on your diet program, if you take a wrong turning, accept you are only human, and get back on-track as soon as possible, if need-be, rewrite your goals to allow for the wrong turning, add a day on to your weight loss calendar, if you were weighing yourself every tuesday, change it to wednesdays.

And don't think you can cheat everyday, because it clearly won't work.

Stay on-track for most of the time, and you will succeed.
  • Don't Stop Until You Reach Your Goal Weight.

Many people begin a diet well, they start to lose weight, but then, something happens in their life, they get discouraged, and instead of accepting that things do go wrong now and again, they simply quit the diet.

I encourage you to accept that things go wrong for all of us now and again, accept the fact that we are only human, and that things like this are temporary set backs.

Once the drama is over, simply start your diet again, right from where you left off, then amend your goals to allow for what happened, so that you get your diet back on track.

And which of course, are the main reasons why you should set goals in the first place, and stick to them.

Don't be one of life's failures, selling yourself short, settling for second best.

Achieving your goals will not only strengthen your character, you will also have a lighter body to show for it, and you will be able to live a healthier life.
  • You've Reached Your Goal Weight, What Next.

If you chose your diet correctly i.e. not a quick or fad weight loss diet, and worked at it slowly, it will have changed your eating habits for life.

You've reached your goal weight, means you can reward yourself with the occasional treat, but be careful, as you don't want to go back to your old lifestyle, your old weight.

There are many ways to lose weight, and quickly if required, well, reasonably quickly anyway... eat healthily, get some exercise, and remember that food is your body's fuel, just don't overfill your fuel tank.

One last tip... maintaining your body weight is far easier than having to lose excess weight, so keep it off.

And finally, when you've lost the weight, reached your desired weight goal, pat yourself on the back, as you certainly deserve it, you are a winner.
